Bonsai nutter for more years than I care to remember.

To me Bonsai is very much a way of life, living for the seasons and looking forward to each in turn for the special things that each can bring.
Trees as a single entity has always been difficult for me, it’s the discipline as a whole with everything that it entails.

Winter and collecting has this deeply embedded hunter gather thing going on which I find incredibly exciting. Inspiration for the “finished” tree and the way in which my trees are presented to the public is massively influenced by the mountains of Wales and with the many places that my collecting takes me.

Since working with Jerry it has enabled me to achieve many of the things that I was feeling about Bonsai, the way we display gives respect to the tree and its place within the space that we create.

My background is in horticulture and garden design, I have built show gardens at the Royal Welsh Show for the last five years, and I have been privileged to gain gold and large gold medals in that time. Recently I was involved with the FOBBS stand at Chelsea gaining the Holy Grail Chelsea Gold.

I have a large and passionate commitment to club level Bonsai, but Celtic Knot gives me the chance to express “ my way” withn the discipline,
